ABOUT ME
As a four-time athlete of the year at Sarnia Northern High School in Ontario, Virgil was a standout basketball and volleyball player. He has lead his teams to numerous provincial championship appearances and has been invited to several National Men’s Basketball team tryouts.
Virgil graduated from SFU in 1993 where he played Varsity basketball and football. Upon graduation, he became the Assistant Basketball Coach at SFU for six years. He was also an instructor at the All-Canada camp from 1998-2003 and an Assistant Coach for the National Development team for three years.
Virgil’s first head coaching position was at Laurentian University from 2000-2007. Since then he has been the Head Coach at Collingwood School where he also teaches mathematics and strength and conditioning. He is an NCCP Level 3 certified coach (level 4 in progress).
Virgil is married with three children ages 6, 5 and 2.
